Official Schedule, Groups, Venues & Team Squads
The 2026 T20 World Cup will start on Feb 7, with India and Sri Lanka co-hosting the event. A total of 20 teams will compete and they have been divided into four groups of five sides each. The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will be played between February 7 and March 8 2026. This is the 10th edition of the competition and this time it will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. This is the first time India will host the competition after 2016. The final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8.
Being the defending champions, India are already favourites to win the title. Among the other contenders, there is last edition's runner-up South Africa, two-time champions England and Australia as well. Pakistan are yet to confirm their participation in the competition. Just like 2024, this edition will once again be a 20-team competition.
The top two teams from each group will move to the Super Eight stage. After Super Eight, the top two in each group will move into the semi-finals.
India are placed in Group A with Pakistan, the Netherlands, Namibia and the USA. Group B includes former champions Australia, co-hosts Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Ireland and Oman. While, Group C features two-time winners England and West Indies, along with Scotland, Nepal and Italy. It will be Italy’s first time playing in a T20 World Cup.
