HPSC HCS Exam Pattern 2026
The selection process consists of three stages:
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Screening Stage)
- Paper I: General Studies (100 Marks, 2 Hours)
- Paper II: Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) (100 Marks, 2 Hours)
- Negative marking: 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
- Paper II is qualifying with minimum 33%.
Stage 2: Main Written Examination
- Six descriptive (essay-type) papers, total 600 marks.
