Neelkanth Mishra Named Part-Time Chairperson of UIDAI, Nilesh Shah and Prof Mausam Join as Members

In a significant development, Neelkanth Mishra, Chief Economist at Axis Bank, has been appointed as the part-time Chairperson of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Alongside, Nilesh Shah, Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company, and Prof Mausam have been onboarded as part-time members of the Aadhaar-governing body. The UIDAI board consists of a chairperson, two part-time members, and the CEO, who also serves as the Member-Secretary.

Mishra’s new role strengthens his presence in key government bodies. He already holds positions as a part-time member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council (PM-EAC) and the advisory committee of the India Semiconductor Mission, which evaluates semiconductor proposals in the country.
